A Futurist Thinker and University Scholar, Jimmy is an Intentional learner with keen interest in Entrepreneurship, innovation and Business Skills training amongst young aspiring entrepreneurs and MSMEs in Uganda. With over 13 years of work experience in University teaching, MSME financing with Barclays Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, Jimmy brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and relevant industry connections to Maarifasasa as an Advisor.
In addition to being an advisor to the company, he also serves as the research lead particularly in the field of VR/AR in Education. With a PhD pursuit, Jimmy hopes to use research to make a solid case for the use of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality as tools for Immersive and Experiential learning in Uganda's education systems.
Jimmy also currently serves as the TVET Specialist at Brac Uganda's country head office in Kampala. He has previously served as the Development Lead/MSME Partner/Mentor & Learning Associate with Makerere University Business School’s Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Incubation Center (MUBS-EIIC). In this role, he personally supported over 200 MSMEs and over 1000 youth entrepreneurs in the areas of; Business skilling & digital Training, Business Design & Theory of Change, for both university students and community MSMEs including those in technical and vocational practice. This experience has been both humbling and a learning point for him on the core issues affecting MSMEs & young entrepreneurs and how to co-exist & cope with the Institutional Voids.
Jimmy Moses has personally participated & supported on the multifaceted MUBS-EIIC Partnership & Collaboration programs involving; NSSF, Outbox, Innovation Village, Design Hub Kampala, Hive Collab, Kafeero Foundation & CENTUM Kenya, Ye! Community, Hult Prize International, Google and The Business Design bootcamp at Mfano Design Lab, Kampala facilitated by internationally recognized experts, Dr. G. Anthony Giannoumis, Associate Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) and Amit Patel, Creative Director at Experience Haus London.
Jimmy Moses has a very strong grounding in the startup Incubation Process, The Incubation Support Spaces in Uganda, Innovation launchpads & Institutional Voids, the current debate and direction of the Startup ecosystem in Uganda.
